"Be the change you want to see in the world."
This phrase should definitely be painted on every school door, in every college, in every church, temple and house of prayer. It simplifies what we need to hear and see every day so that the world can be better, start improving so that one day it can actually be a better place. We are always waiting for changes; We always demand improvements from others in everything. We can see and problematize everything; We are always willing to criticize. We are horrified by the barbarity in the news; We regret the lack of empathy. It's never us, it's always others. Worse, ultimately we justify that there is no point in being good, doing the right thing if others don't do it. So, in the end, nothing changes. The work in question, as a composition, is probably one of the simplest that Chippado has undertaken. However, it causes a gigantic impact by portraying in such a direct way a horrible reality resulting from the actions of ultra-modern man, a man from high-tech times in the 21st century. Shameful! Yes, the killing, the deforestation, the irresponsibility is shameful. Who are the culprits!? All of us! Yes, we are all guilty. Chippado brings this reality, naked and raw, the monkey on fire, desperate, feeling his own experience go up in smoke; brings ignorance added to man's hunger for wealth and power, in the hope that all of us, without exceptions, some more, others less, begin to exercise the change in ourselves, the change we want to see in the world. If we wait for the right moment; If we wait for each other, for others to change, we will all be left without ground, one day we will be left with no ground to stand on, literally, regrettably.
